INFr8 – the shipping portal for dangerous goods

INFr8 is a cloud-based platform aimed at shippers, forwarders and all modes of transport (air, sea, rail and road) and specifically tailored for the digital exchange of dangerous goods data along the supply chain.

It digitises the traditional paper-based process for dangerous goods. The dangerous goods declaration, also known as shippers, is transmitted completely electronically between the transport participants.

This results in enormous simplifications. The process becomes faster, more reliable and above all more transparent. The previous obligatory errors in the documentation can also be largely eliminated.

INFr8, explained in the film:

Functions

INFr8, first established for the air freight industry to digitally exchange dangerous goods information along the supply chain, has now been expanded to include more modes of transport. Starting immediately, the automated creation of dangerous goods documents for sea cargo (IMO declaration) and road transports (ADR accompanying documents) is also possible. Furthermore, rail transports (RID documents) will be integrated into the system this quarter.

The cross-sectional functions X-convert, Dashboard and Doc-Cloud for data exchange offer optimal support for the creation, communication and storage of electronic dangerous goods documents.

In addition, there are further smart features thanks to which documentary errors can be reduced as far as possible and the effort required to enter dangerous goods declarations can be minimised. These include the printing of shipping labels, automated check mechanisms when creating dangerous goods documents, alert messages on important events, individual statistics as well as the integration of various dangerous goods databases, the possibility of storing one's own master data and so-called snippets, behind which individual text modules, for example emergency telephone numbers, are hidden.

Access

Flexible interfaces, automatic conversions between data formats, a modern web application and a mobile app guarantee all users comprehensive access options when and where you need them.

EDI Interfaces

INFr8 is designed as an open portal and has flexible EDI interfaces to integrate into your in-house or shipping system. Data can be transferred directly from your own system with the convenience of a mouse click.

Web solution

INFr8 is also available as a web application. It offers many convenient functions, such as the Dashboard and real-time status monitoring, so you can always keep an eye on your shipping processes. You can of course combine the web solution together with the EDI platform. As an example, dangerous goods data can be transferred automatically from your own ERP system and additional data can later be added via the web application.

INFr8 app – for mobile access via smartphone and tablet

In addition to the EDI and web solutions, there is also an app for mobile access to track and control all processes.

Participant users and roles

INFr8 runs currently at Frankfurt Airport. Participants represent the entire air cargo supply chain. These include the airline Lufthansa Cargo, the handlings agent LUG, well-known representatives of the pharmaceutical industry and many forwarders.

The shipping portal is set up for international use and is not limited to Frankfurt Airport or other specific locations. This offers infinite possibilities for participants to use the portal according to their own needs.

Your advantages using INFr8:

Your shipment can be flown without delays or additional costs when you provide your transport partners (carrier to recipient) with quality-ensured data as early as possible. INFr8 accepts the data from your in-house system and processes it in such a way that your transport partners can also process and edit the data in their own systems - without any extra work entering data. Installing and working with INFr8 is easy and your shipment can be tracked all the way to the destination airport in real time.

Speed up your processes and cut down on errors now that you’ll no longer need to enter dangerous goods data manually. By using the INFr8 web application or the interface to your in-house system, you’ll receive quality-ensured data from your customers, which you can then add to and edit directly. Flight information, which you can supplement either via web application or via messages from your DGD system, helps to complete the process. The eDGD is then automatically or manually transferred to the GHA. The sooner the GHA receives the information, the better they can prepare for your driver's arrival, shorten the LAT and give you immediate feedback if necessary. You can receive this information by e-mail, ticker message in the web application, on your mobile device as a push message, or directly in your in-house system. The shipment can be tracked in real time, all the way through to the destination airport.

You’ll streamline your processes and reduce errors by receiving up-to-the-minute information about upcoming dangerous goods deliveries in your own system an also in the INFr8 web application. This offers you more flexibility in planning and saves time. You’ll no longer need to wait until after the driver arrives to enter the dangerous goods data. As soon as the forwarder has booked with the airline, you can expect to receive the data about the shipper and be able to check it, provide feedback if necessary, and prepare everything in advance of the driver's arrival.
